Flapping wings

I see her drop
from her abode
her flapping wings
her brave attempts
to remain afloat
in a whole new world
the blue skies beckon

She looks behind..
The nest she wants not
to leave
with renewed vigor,
back to it
she does go.
Unable to take leave
of her haven
an abode she loves
with all her heart
the blue skies still beckon

With a longing unknown
she stares at the blue skies
She looks around
the memories and the love
they clip her wings
the comfort and the warmth
she knows not
"Will i find them again?"
she wonders..
The blue skies beckon

She spreads her wings
and soars forth
leaving behind
all that was
for the past
her future she cant lose
The blue skies beckon
the fledgling
now a bird has become..
