I was just lost in thought for sometime and i came up with a few questions. I guess I dont know the answer to many. But i just know that there is no black or white. Only varying shades of grey. (Reminds me of Ranjani my friend from college and our discussion in our 2-2.)
  1. What do you call refusal to accept defeat and move on? Obstinate stupidity or Persistent brilliance?
  2. How thin is the line between innocent child like conviction and a mature belief?
  3. Are you ready to be burnt at stake as there is a remote hope that you might get a convert to your cause? What do i do then? Appreciate your conviction or convey my condolence?
  4. What is better? Pleasure that exists and makes you get used to it or the pain that numbs you so much that even normalcy makes you euphoric?
  5. How thin is the line between stupidity and enlightenment? Aren't the two closer than they seem?
  6. Experience says that the enlightened few were branded stupid by their ignorant counterparts.Experience also says that stupid mules consider themselves enlightened. Which experience should one believe in?
  7. Are recollected memories better than those that are never forgotten? Or is it the other way round?
  8. Is it better to know that what you want exists but you cant get it or is it better to be oblivious to its existence and be happy with the mundane musings and the useless babble around?
  9. Overactive imagination and Vision : Dont these two terms convey the same thing in some circumstances?
  10. Is silence sometimes a more powerful medium to communicate than words?

Nice post! I can try n answer SOME of them :-)

1. Neither. You call it strength of spirit. BUt having said, knowing when to quite is important too.

2. It depends on how or what you can back up that belief with...

3. Didn't understand...

4. The second one. You wouldn't know pleasure if you didn't have pain in your life.

5. :D I don't know!

6. LOL!! I like this one! Really!

7. Depends on what kind of a memory it is actually.I prefer the never forgotten ones... because they aren't forgotten for a reason.... unless they are relating to something bad. A recollected memory provides temporary delight but what rocks you to comfort is your well-preserved collection of never-forgotten ones :-)

8. It's any day better to know that what you want exists but you cant get it. It still keeps your faith alive and SOMEDAY you may get it after all, if not immediately... but your conviction in it is true all the same coz it exists.

9. They both convey similar things, yes... sometimes.

10. Of course! Do you even need to ask? :D

@Ashwathy: Thanks for patiently skimming through the points and answering them. :D
As for point 3, its more like, think of those who are ready to die as they think there's a remote chance that what they want would happen.

my Dear lady, I still remember this conversation we had in the 5th block entrance!! Wow. That was a brilliant merge of our varied thoughts and views of the same thing. you missed out one question >> "is every individual replaceable?" That was the highlight!

My answers:
1. Refusal to accept defeat may also mean I want success in that area more than anything else
2. A child is not totally innocent, its convictions are often based on shrewd observation; a so called mature belief may be wrong! heehee
3. If i am burnt, then i have gone my way and will not be there to receive your congrats/condolence
4. Pleasure and pain are always around, you can't make the choice sometimes
It's much better to long for what you can't have than not to know of it at all.Haven't you read the lines beginning,
It's better to have loved and lost than never having loved at all.
or something like that
